EADJ Fashion Roundup: Vanity Plate Edition

Today we match up some fashionistas with helpful suggestions of what personalized plate they could put on their car, assuming they own a car and need to make them street legal, because you're not allowed to drive a car on public streets without a license.

To the woman whose footwear threatens to fly away at any moment:

To the gentleman dressed in a mattress liner for a vest:

To the oblivious commuter whose backpack makes it look like he's wearing a speedo:

To the power couple who stand at a bus stop like a G-Star Raw Denim billboard:

To the three zebra people on the NJ Transit platform:

To the man who (I know it's hard to tell in the blurry photo) opened his shirt buttons down to the navel and then tied it off in a Daisy Duke cinch:

To the anachronistic dandy on 43rd Street:

To the jogger who was wearing what looked like an actual tutu (and also a "DIPLOMAT" T-shirt):

To the studded hipster:

To the woman wearing wolf ears and a neck brace at a water park:

To the Asian Orville Redenbacher on 46th Street:

To the black bra/mesh top/rolled up jeans combo wearer in Midtown NYC, a pair of options:

A Missed Opportunity

A Jersey driver is one letter way from "RD4 ANL," which would have been way better cruising plates.

Bill Dow is Indirectly Responsible For This

Spotted in Quincy, IL (????), an ad for a transmission repair place:

This begs several questions:

• They know what a tranny is in Quincy, right?
• So they know that they named their entire business around a tranny joke, right?
• And they know that their target audience probably aren't trannies, right?
• And they can't be completely surprised if someone completely misguided sees this ad with the clip art doctor thinking it's actually a tranny clinic, right?
• Uh, that isn't a real tranny clinic, or is it?
• Why did they have to move?

Maddening.

What compels people to do what they do? What could be the possible explanation for some things? I found this on a sidewalk in Brooklyn:

I looked on the Internet, and there's no band website that pops up (yet). So, why did someone write "The Sewage Worms" on a nametag? Was it part of a creative writing exercise? Some sort of label for a display about actual sewage worms? Did someone change their name to "The?"

There are some things Wikipedia, Google, and the information desk at the Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, North Carolina have no answer for.

A New EADJ Monday Segment: The Confused NYC Tourists

Pekka: Helmi!

Helmi: What, Pekka?

Pekka: Can you see what I see?

Helmi: There is so much to see in New York the City. Which thing are you seeing?

Pekka: Agreed, there is an explosion of visual delights in this marvelous city. But I was specifying the looking at the one thing on the "side-walk" there.

Helmi: Ø Mein Göten!

Pekka: I know, right?

Helmi: Ø the wonders of mankind! New York the City is like a display of man's finest achievements!

Pekka: I am glad that I brought the photo-camera with us to United States for recording these marvels.

Helmi: Well, don't just stand there, take a photograph of the strange thing!

Pekka: I am still lost in wonder. Is it even real? How did it find its way there? Who helped it become that way? It is so high. perhaps it is a tall farmer's duty? So many questions.

Helmi: No time to wonder! Photograph the thing so we can show our relatives! We can discuss later, there is no time! PHOTOGRAPH IT!!!!

Hey Stupid

When offering a fleet of yachts available for rent for commercial shoots, music videos (bling!), and corporate events, it's probably a good idea to spend some time on naming the company instead of just slapping words together to form an unfortunate new word.

Just ask Gina:
