Títulos Alternativos Para un Cómic Mexicano

I found this lovely Spanish comic book at a magazine stand at a NYC subway stop. The drawings are lovely and over the top, as you might expect. What struck me most was the cover:

And rather than "Amores y Amantes" (which boringly translates to 'Love and Lovers'), I wondered what other titles this could sell as...

EADJ's Mission To Spot All Of The Avengers On The Subway, Special Collector's Issue

You might want to seal this one in a polypropylene bag with a cardboard backing board, because this is a special COMPLETE AVENGERS issue! The Agents of E.A.D.J. have double-confirmed the sighting of the last remaining unseen member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and not only that, but their courageous LEADER!

CAPTAIN AMERICA

Yes, the fearless super soldier (born Steve Rogers) was spotted on a train in Penn Station earlier this week, and I gotta tell you, he doesn't look a day over 91.

You may not recognize "Cap" at first, but that unmistakable stars and stripes on his lap is the dead giveaway that it is indeed "The Star-Spangled Avenger." And look at that color scheme: RED smartphone, WHITE stripes on the bag, and BLUE jeans? Come on, that's him!

What's surprising is that he was so unassuming. I mean, after seeing him lay waste to hundreds of Chitauri invaders in "The Avengers," it's hard to believe he could just sit there calmly and play Candy Crush Saga. But that's the kind of cool-headed leader we're dealing with!

Bonus: Even though he was spotted before,  here is a new shot we acquired of Thor on the subway:

At last, we have seen all six Avengers on the New York subway system!

The only ones left to spot now are Agent Coulson and Nick Fury. But I need to remind myself that if I do encounter a black guy with an eyepatch, he might actually kill me if I try to take his photo for this blog.

Stay tuned, true believers! Excelsior!

EADJ's Mission To Spot All Of The Avengers On The Subway, Volume 1:Issue 3

Hey there, true believers! After having rounded up most of the Avengers in previous sightings, the Agents of E.A.D.J. have just confirmed the sighting of the Norse God of Thunder himself, hailing from Asgard, Thor Odinson! Thor was spotted on the 42nd Street subway stop on the 3 line just this morning.

THOR

As the Norse god of thunder, Thor can summon the elements of the storm (lightning; rain; wind; snow) and uses his mighty hammer Mjolnir as a tool to focus this ability. This morning, however, the inclement weather he conjured up delayed the train he was waiting for. So it was mostly his fault.

Here Thor is waiting for the train, sporting his trademark blond locks.

Wielding his mighty pen Mjolnir, Thor bravely attempts to tame an "Expert" level Sudoku as the train finally arrives. (When Thor has to transport companions and/or objects to a destination by himself, he has a chariot drawn by two huge mystical goats called Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder that can fly nearly anywhere he desires. Today both goats were busy.)

Stay tuned to this blog as we continue to scour the NYC subway system for Captain America and Nick Fury, the two remaining holdouts for "Earth's Mightiest Heroes!"

EADJ's Mission To Spot All Of The Avengers On The NYC Subway

The Agents of E.A.D.J. are happy to report that we have spotted two more of "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" on the New York City transit subway system since our last report.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK

Dr. Bruce Banner was not spotted, but his angry gamma ray incarnation the Hulk was spotted on a transit poster giving his seat to an elderly woman. It's impressive the Hulk can be a gentleman when he's not smashing two air craft carriers together. HULK RESPECT ELDERS!!!!

THE BLACK WIDOW

Now I know it doesn't look like it in this photo, but this commuter was clearly a redhead. And bedecked in her signature skintight black outfit, it was clear this was S.H.I.E.L.D. operative Natalia Romanova, known as Black Widow within the Avengers team.

It must have been Natalia's day off, because instead of combat boots and a utility belt, she went with some open toed flats and a striped tote bag. And she was using her iPhone to either listen in on some covert black ops chatter or to "Roar" by Katy Perry.

Stay tuned while we continue searching for a guy with long blond hair, a white guy wearing red, white and blue, and possibly a black guy in an eyepatch? We can only hope!!!! Stay tuned, true believers!
